Review: Hachiko: The True Story Of A Loyal Dog

Book information

Title: Hachiko: The True Story Of A Loyal Dog

Author: Pamela S. Turner

Where to buy: Amazon.

The film made me cry. So I wanted to read a book about this. And I found one from the perspective of a boy.

The book is really good. It doesn't only tell the story but also shows it with imagery. Every information is also right on the real life events in 1923-1935. It's true that the gardener had the dog sometimes before Hachiko walked again in the morning to the train station. He kinda lived there, but eventually once in a while went to Dr. Ūenos Gardener's house. And Hachiko ran away from his new home by Dr. Ūenos relatives.

After the story of the book finished we also get an information of the origin story and why it is so important in Japanese culture. Very good book with great resources and lots of information.

How it works: Only everything that is lower than 9 gets reduced from the final rating. Depending on how strong it inflicted the overall enjoyment of reading it effects differently.
