Review: Sunbringer (Fallen Gods #2)

Image
Book information Title: Sunbringer Author: Hannah Kaner Where to buy:  Harper Collins ,  Amazon ,  Banres & Noble  &  Bookshop.org The following review contains spoilers, proceed at your own risk! At first I was a bit disappointed seeing that the drama from the first book vanished and mainly was about action, but the end got a spike of drama, also unexpected as it wasn't about Arren and Elogast but rather about Skedi and Inara. Again a fight, and I don't quite know why, maybe as I got attached from the start to Skedi but every time I read their fights I feel very sad. Not like the 'I pity them' sad, but actually sad. Even if the cause for it is my attachment to Skedi and him being my favourite character from the start, I think without the awesome writing style of Hannah Kaner I would have never felt that way. I ironically liked as well that the focus of this book was not on Kissen, but rather on Arren, Elgoast, Skedi and Inara. Don't like characters that...

Review: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 3

Book information Title: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 3 Author: Plutus Where to buy:  Kyobobook This book showed us more about the relationship with the characters and we finally get to know Jeanette.  Honestly I really liked how the characters developed, how Claude was from mean to becoming a protective father and taking care that Athanasia always feels welcomed and on ease. Ijekiel was still that cute boy who we got to know was in love with Athanasia from the beginning and never stopped thinking about her and always went back to the place he first met her. He also showed her his secret hide place where he goes when he wants to be alone, showing that he always welcomes Athansias presence. Not sure what to think about her relationship with Lucas as I know that he is mentally and physically older than her. Just feels wrong, so I rather preferred if he didn't become more protective and caring of her. Also I think he was jealous of her relationship with Ijekiel who was in my opinion a better fi...

Review: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 2

Book information Title: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 2 Author: Plutus Where to buy:  Kyobobook In this book we get to know a bit more about Claude and the bond with Athanasia and him are becoming closer, especially when Athanasia was sick for a whole month. It was a bit frustrating seeing Athanasia still hating on her father even though he starts to loosen up and become more kind to her. If I would be in her position I would also mistrust him, but still wouldn't take his kidness for granted and be glad when he protects me like from falling on the ground (yes I talk about THAT scene). You could also see he cares about her regarding his reaction when she fainted from weakness. He can't unalive her, he even said so himself! Also, the way Felix just opens up to a seven year old out of nowhere and tells his whole backstory was so odd. Especially as it wasn't a funny or wholesome story. Even Athanasia thought; Isn't this too personal for me to listen? I do think the same, that was just a w...

Review: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 1

Book information Title: 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 1 Author: Plutus Where to buy:  Kyobobook The manhwa is really cool. Nice drawings (even though the eyes and mouth looked weird from Athanasia twice). The plot is something new to me and at first I wasn't sure if I will like it, but I am glad that the whole 'it's from a book I read' plot is not exactly like the book the protagonist read, otherwise it would have been boring. Athanasia is a smart girl and I think she is forced to act and speak like her age as her body still needs to learn, even though her mind already knows how. If not, then that would be a logic mistake as sooner or later she would have definitely slipped a word or acted more adult-like. The plot is unique and the characters and how they behave (especially Athanasia) is funny. There were lots of moments I just chuckled as they were funny. The book also has relatable content like the way Athanasia reacts to seeing her father for the first time. I would react the same...

Review: Godkiller

Image
Book information Title: Godkiller Author: Hannah Kaner Where to buy:  Harper Collins Nice vocabulary and wording. Fantasy book with made-up words and gods with unique forms. Plot twist and complex and deep character relationships and development. Ups and downs on characters relationships, making them feel more real. Relatable moments, platonic love. Small LGBT+ romance (side characters) and only mild romance throughout the book. No logic leak and medium-paced book. Sometimes slow-paced, too fast romance (making it also seem unnatural) and odd ending. Likes:  Nice wording. Good vocabulary choice.  Example from the prologue: The rope sliced the delicate flesh between Kissen’s teeth, and blood poured thick and hot across her tongue. She growled and bit down hard, wrenching at her restraint. A shot of pain, a grinding in her gums, then a snap. The rope! The rope was loose, her canine still buried in it, ripped clean from her mouth. Example 2: The flames changed. They twisted ...
